Sentry

Error tracking & performance analytics — crash reports, stack traces, and release health from your live app.

Why we need this

Sentry is the service that gives us error tracking and performance analytics for your app. When something crashes or throws an unexpected error in production, Sentry captures the full stack trace, the device and OS, and the steps that led up to it — so we can find and fix the problem quickly instead of guessing. Calda connects to it through the Sentry SDK so we get crash reports, release health, and performance data from every build you ship.

Like all other accounts, this one should be owned by you. Your error history, performance data, and release metrics build up over time and tell the story of your app's stability — keeping the account under your company means that history belongs to you, not us.

Do I need a credit card?

No. Sentry has a free Developer plan that's enough to set up the account, invite us, and start receiving errors from early beta. No card is required to create the account or add team members.

Heads up before launch

The free plan caps how many errors and performance events it ingests each month. Once your app has real users, you may cross that limit and need a paid plan to avoid dropping events — worth planning for around launch.

Step-by-step setup

Create your Sentry account

Sign up at sentry.io using the company email that should own the account. During signup Sentry creates an organization for you — this is the container that holds your projects and team members.

Create a project

From the dashboard, create a new Project for your app and pick the platform it's built on. The project is where all of your app's errors, releases, and performance data are collected.

Not sure which platform to pick

If you're unsure, don't worry about getting this exact — we can adjust the platform and SDK configuration once we're in. The important part is that the project and organization exist and we have access.

Invite Calda to your organization

Open Settings → Members, click to invite a new member, enter the Calda email we share with you, and assign the Admin role. Then send the invite — we'll get an email to accept it.

Admin is the role we need: it lets us configure projects, manage SDK keys and alerts, and set up releases across your organization while keeping billing and ownership with you.

Confirm in Slack

Don't forget to notify us in Slack so we can accept the invitation and confirm that we can sign in.

Conclusion

That is it — with an organization and project in place and Admin access granted, we can wire up error tracking and performance analytics in your app. Once you've invited us and confirmed in Slack, we'll handle the rest of the integration on our side.
