Publishing

What we need from you to submit your app to the App Store and Google Play.

When we get close to launch, the stores ask for a set of listing details and assets that have to come from you — the things only you can decide, like the final app name, descriptions, and the URLs the stores link to.

This page is your checklist of what to provide. Calda handles the build upload, signing, QA, and the actual submission once we have these from you.

One place to collect everything

It is easiest to collect everything in one place, so we can submit the app to the stores in one go. We suggest you write a simple Google Document and share it with us.

What both stores need

These apply to both the App Store and Google Play:

  • App name — the public name as it should appear on the stores.
  • Short description / subtitle — one punchy line about the app.
  • Full description — the longer marketing copy, proofread, plus translations for any languages you want to target.
  • Category — the primary category that best fits the app.
  • Support contact — a support email (and optionally a phone number) shown to users.
  • Privacy policy URL — a live, reachable page covering the data the app collects.
  • Support URL and (optional) marketing URL — live pages we can link to.
  • Brand assets — your logo and brand colours if we don't already have them, so we can produce the icon and screenshots.
  • Demo account — if the app requires a login, test credentials the store reviewers can use.

Privacy policy is required

Neither store will approve an app without a working privacy policy URL. If you don't have one yet, tell us early so we can help you get one in place.

App Store (Apple) specifics

In addition to the shared items above, Apple asks for:

  • Keywords — a comma-separated list used for App Store search.
  • Promotional text (optional) — a short line you can update any time without resubmitting.

What Calda takes care of

So you know what's not on your plate, we handle:

  • App icon and publishing screens (generated from your brand assets).
  • Building, signing, and uploading the production app to both stores.
  • Filling in the technical metadata and submitting for review.
  • Final QA and monitoring crashes and reviews after launch.

Timing

Once we have everything above, first-time review usually takes 24–72 hours on the App Store and a few hours to a few days on Google Play. We'll confirm in Slack the moment each app goes live.
